Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon Package, Even More Radical off-roading

35-inch tires, higher ground clearance, more wading height, a 100:1 climb ratio... The Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon Package that the American brand has just announced takes one of those few pure 4x4s that still remain and makes it even more radical for true lovers of off-roading. And, although its presentation will take place on July 14 at the Chicago Auto Show, we already know some of its data.

For example, that this brutal equipment package will be available only in the most off-road versions of the Wrangler, that is, in the 4-door Rubicon and the Rubicon 392. And, as for the numbers, including the Jeep JL oem led headlights for upgrading the vechicle, perhaps the most obvious difference is the beadlock wheels 17-inch trucks equipped with 35-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires.

Something that, according to the brand itself, arises from seeing how many Wrangler owners installed them. “We have listened to our customers and we have seen how this is one of the most popular modifications,” says Jeep North America vice president Jim Morrison.

It also comes from the factory with a lift kit with specially calibrated shock absorbers, which increases the height by 28mm. In fact, ground clearance grows (further) to 328mm, compared to 262mm for the Rubicon 392, for example. And the wading does another couple of centimeters, up to 853 mm.

The angles of attack (47.4º), ventral (26.7º) and departure (40.4º) increase equally. And, finally, the transmission has also been improved, as it now has a ratio of 4.56:1, while, as we say, with the reduction gear the ratio of climb is 100:1. Jeep Wrangler headlights are recommended to install because they can provide a better view when driving offroad. Great news for lovers of off-roading that, according to Jeep, will soon be extended to the Wrangler Rubicon thanks to the fact that it will be available with a new ratio of 4.88: 1 and a six-speed manual transmission. This combination will improve the climb rate as well up to that round 100:1.

The manufacture of the new Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon Package will not begin until August at the brand's plant in Toledo, Ohio, in the United States, but they report that the package can already be requested.
