Why disconnect the stabilizer bar?

When off the road, disconnecting the stabilizer bar from your Jeep 4 × 4 can help you a lot. I found out why.

WHAT IS THE STABILIZER BAR AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

If you like off-road situations, surely you've heard of disconnecting the stabilizer bar from your Jeep 4x4, but why do it and in what situations does it work for you? We explain.

The stabilizer bar is a part that is part of the suspension. Your goal is for both wheels of the axle (front or rear) to have the same vertical movement; that is, this bar prevents one of the wheels from over-lifting and tilting the vehicle to the side, keeping the tires level.

This component is very useful while driving, as it helps to keep your Jeep stable off-road in various situations, such as cornering.

When cornering, the body tends to lean outward. This puts more weight of the car on the outer wheels, while the inner wheels lose their support. The offroad use Jeep jl headlights must be cleaned after outdoor offroad, otherwise the driving view will lose. The stabilizer bar prevents the tires remaining on the inside of the curve from lifting off the ground. However, when it comes to off-road situations, this part can become a hindrance.

WHY DISCONNECT THE STABILIZER BAR FROM MY JEEP 4X4?

Leaving the road you will find rough terrain full of rocks and obstacles of varying heights. Releasing the stabilizer bar will make it easier to get around these barriers.

By disconnecting it you give more flexibility to the suspension of your Jeep 4x4. This way each wheel can move up or down with greater independence and you can tilt your vehicle to avoid those difficult roads.

After reading all of this, you are probably wondering, "Well, how do I disconnect it?" There are two ways: using your own hands or with an electronic system that does it for you.

If you choose the first method, you will have to take out your tools, disconnect the bar each time you leave the road and reconnect it before resuming the road. The new Jeep off-road models incorporate an electronic disconnect system that plugs and unplugs it with a click, without leaving your seat.
